Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Bikelia collects when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies alongside our Terms of Service. By using Bikelia, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, city, and (optionally) a profile photo.
• Listing content: vehicle details, photos, price, and description you choose to publish.
• Communications: messages you send through our in-app chat, tour join requests, and contact-form submissions.
• Transaction-adjacent data: bids you place, listings you save, tours you join, and blog posts you read — used to run those features.
• Technical data: device/browser information, IP-derived approximate location, and cookies used to keep you signed in and remember preferences (e.g. dark mode).
• Sign-in via Google: if you use "Continue with Google", we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google to create your account.

2. How we use your information

• To operate the marketplace — showing your listings to buyers, connecting you with sellers, and running auctions, tours, and messaging.
• To send you in-app notifications (outbids, new messages, tour-request updates) and, where applicable, service emails.
• To keep the Platform safe — detecting fraud, spam, and Terms violations.
• To improve Bikelia — understanding which features are used, so we can fix problems and build better ones.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. What other users can see

Your listings are public, including any photos and details you add. Your phone/WhatsApp number is hidden by default and only shown after you or another user explicitly chooses to reveal it on a listing or conversation. Your full name and city may be visible to a buyer or seller you are messaging or transacting with — this is necessary for the marketplace to function.

4. Storage, security & third-party processors

Bikelia is built on Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and hosted on Vercel. Access to your data is restricted using row-level security so that, for example, only you can read your own saved listings, notifications, or private messages. Uploaded photos are stored in access-controlled buckets. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

5. Cookies & similar technologies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your theme (light/dark) preference. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Embedded YouTube videos (on our homepage and Cool Rides page) may set their own cookies once you press play, governed by Google's privacy policy.

6. Your choices & rights

• You can edit your profile, phone number, and photo at any time from your account.
• You can delete individual listings, saved items, or messages you control.
• You can request a copy of your data, or request that we delete your account and associated personal information, by emailing support@bikelia.pk. We will action verified requests within a reasonable time, subject to any records we are legally required to retain.

7. Pakistan legal framework

Pakistan does not yet have a single comprehensive data-protection statute in force at the time of writing; the Personal Data Protection Bill remains under legislative process. In the meantime, we handle your information consistent with the principles of the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002 (which gives legal recognition to electronic records and consent) and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 (which criminalises unauthorised access to, or interference with, personal data and information systems). If and when a dedicated Pakistani data-protection law is enacted, we will update this policy to comply with it.

8. Children

Bikelia is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our features evolve. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
